Big Rocks Exercise Worksheet

Updated: Apr 5, 2023

Imagine you had to fill an empty jar with rocks, gravel, and sand. There are many ways you could approach this with varying levels of success but, ultimately, the most successful route would be to put the rocks in followed by gravel and sand. What if you had started with the sand and the gravel? You would have never been able to fit in the rocks. Imagine the rocks, gravel, and sand are the priorities in your life. How are you sorting them?

When considering the priorities in your life, there will be minor and major ones. By identifying what your “big rocks” are, you can more easily identify the “gravel” and keep your personal health and happiness front of mind when making decisions.

On the diagram below, identify your current big and small rocks.
